This is not news but it confirms what most New Yorkers should already know if you have a pulse.
New York has the second least business-friendly tax policies
The Empire State has slipped two places to 49th in the Tax Foundation's 2009 Business Tax Climate Index.
The Tax Climate Index rates states based on their corporate, individual, sales, unemployment and property taxes. The Tax Foundation has been measuring these variables since 1937.
Only New Jersey was beneath us. California, Ohio and Rhode Island round out the bottom five.
If you are looking for less taxes, move to Wyoming which topped the list, followed by South Dakota, Nevada, Alaska and Florida.
Would be an interesting survey to find out how many of New York's state lawmakers intend to retire to the Sunshine State.
If all else fails, there's always Wyoming.
