McCain's appearance on Letterman was news: USA Today.
Letterman didn't let him off the hook TOO easily.
The Los Angeles Times had some more on McCain returning to David, hat in hand.
Dorothy Rabinowitz of The Wall Street Journal called this "The Other Letterman Show" --
He and Mr. Letterman could have been made for each other but for that primal sin Sen. McCain committed a month ago. One of the comedian's early fugues on the theme -- a bleak pass at humor -- said it all: "I feel like an ugly date. I feel used. I feel cheap. I feel sullied."
Keith Obermann from MSNBC had fun being on standby ...
McCain apologized. Letterman wouldn't relent, prompting McCain to say:
"I've never had so much fun since my last interogation."
Then the two had a lot of fun kissing and making up.
